Timeline

• February 18, 2022 - Released
• February 9, 2026 - Status changed to Game Changers in Commander

Rationale

Farewell is included on the Game Changers list due to its capacity as a large-scale game reset, which removes many permanents and significantly alters the established state of the board. Such powerful effects, which necessitate starting the game over, are desirable to know about but are not always desired in play. Its designation on the Game Changers list allows players to opt into the potential inclusion of the card, rather than mandating its presence across all competitive encounters.
